Raymond Theater Projector Recovered
May 5, 2009

A seventeen year old male was arrested at approximately 7 pm, Tuesday May 5th, 2009, at his apartment in Raymond, for possession of stolen property, first degree, and trafficking stolen property, first degree.

Raymond police officers recovered the projector that was stolen from the Raymond Theater in April, after the 17 year old sold it to a twenty three year old Raymond man.  Officers do not believe the 23 year old was involved in the theft.  They also don’t believe he knew the actual value of what he had purchased. The projector has been valued at $10,000.  The arrest and recovery was the culmination of extensive work by lead investigators, Officer Charlie Gailey and Officer James Samplawski, after receiving tips from the community.  The location was placed under surveillance which led to the arrest.

The investigation is continuing to determine if this individual was involved in the theater break in.  Chief Ken Boyes praised the work of his officers saying, “We all took this theft very personally.  These officers made it clear from the start; they would not rest until they broke this case.  I couldn’t be more proud of their efforts.”
